Spring has arrived. It’s the time when all things begin to bloom, sunny days become more frequent, and the scent of beautiful flowers stimulates our senses and prepares the ground for the summer that follows. Our desire to work long, steady hours daily declines as we begin making plans and daydream more and more of beaches, cocktails, exotic foods, and gorgeous islands.
Today’s list as you have probably guessed already is all about helping you pick the right destination for your upcoming summer vacation.

One of the most popular islands (if not THE most popular island) in the world, Santorini is ideal to visit every year for its fantastic scenery, superb architecture, traditional local food & wine, and its unique sunset. The vast majority of its beaches have a mysterious black volcanic sand that gives you a sense of the unearthly while you enjoy the sun and the blue waters of the Aegean.

Especially if you are newly married or planning to make your vacation this year a romantic one, then you should visit the best island in the world according to the BBC, because after all, they didn’t give Santorini that prestigious title for nothing.

Mykonos, even though in Greece and part of the Aegean islands, is exactly the opposite of Santorini. Famous for its wild nightlife, its graphic white houses, and its gorgeous beaches, Mykonos always attracts celebrities from around the world such as Rihanna, Shakira, Russell Crowe, Hugh Jackman, the Kardashians, and Madonna, just to name a few.

Mykonos is also known for its “sexy” parties that last for days and are for all tastes: straight, bisexual, gay; whatever your pleasure, you’ll find yourself very well satisfied.

Ibiza is not even an island really: it’s Earth’s natural dance club and the fact that every famous DJ dreams to play at a club or party in Ibiza says it all. There are beach parties, boat parties, food parties, hippie parties, raves, any kind of party you could ever dream of or imagine.

If you’re a party animal who wants to drink, dance, and have fun (of any kind) then Ibiza is the place for you. If youdecide to take a break from all the wild parties and enjoy some moments of silence, however, don’t miss the amazing sunset at Café Mambo. It is a truly unique experience!

The fact that over the last few years the island’s economy has become driven almost solely by tourism should tell us something. Simply put, Bora Bora is our beautiful planet’s honeymooner’s paradise. Its undeniable allure and beauty will get every marriage off to a great start, and those who are already married and bored will probably fall in love all over again.

Some of the island’s highlights include the Pearl Beach Resort, Mount Otemanu, Matira Beach, and an incredibly beautiful lagoon that is believed to have seven shades of blue. If you can afford it, you know where to take your lady (or gentleman) this summer.

It is historically recorded thatone thousand years ago, a group of Polynesian adventurers loaded into canoes and found their way across the South Pacific to one of the most gorgeous islands in the world. Of course after they discovered it they never abandoned it and how could they?

So visiting Easter Island you get the chance not only to enjoy the gorgeous beaches, nice weather, and scenic beauty the island offers but thousands of years of history, amazing monuments, and statues that the Polynesians built.

Last but not least, according to CNN, Easter Island is home to more than 100 types of fish with tuna ceviche considered to be one of the best in the world. If you’re craving some fresh fish then just ask for the day’s catch, and pair it with a Chilean wine and you won’t regret it.

The most recent of the fifty US states and birthplace of the current American president, “NO CHANGE” Obama, is undoubtedly one of the most famous group of islands in the world thanks to its diverse natural scenery, warm tropical climate, and active volcanoes it offers to tourists, wind surfers, and volcanologists alike.

Some call it an earthly paradise for its exotic beautybut there’s so much more than only sun and sand to the gorgeous Hawaiian Islands. Keep in mind that all Hawaii’s beaches are public, it’s the birthplace of surfing, with many top surfing events for you to participate in or enjoy while eating some of the world’s freshest pineapples and drinking some of the “bestest” cocktails. So, what are you waiting for? Stop reading and book your ticket to Hawaii right now.

Aitutaki is a small paradise in the Cook Islands. This small island, surrounded by a triangular coral reef, is known for its breathtaking lagoon.

It’s the ideal place to relax and rest during a picnic on the white sand and under the tall palm trees of one of the many small uninhabited islands of Aitutaki. Despite the amazing beauty of Aitutaki, the island does not attract many tourists as of yet because of its location and the relative difficulty to get there. However, Aitutaki remains the ideal destination for those who seek something new and want some “exotic” privacy or just want to escape from the usual crowded destinations.

This is the third island from the land of gods, democracy, and philosophy but that should not be shocking if one takes into account that Greece has more than 1,400 islands.

Known as the “Island of Colors” thanks to the emerald waters and its beautiful small houses painted in lively tones, the island of Milos looks like it’s sailing on the peaceful Aegean Sea. This is the place where they discovered the world-famous statue Aphrodite of Milos, better known as the Venus de Milo, which is located nowadays in the Louvre.

Milos, however, has many other beauties to admire. There are dozens of beaches that offer a variety of sea colors and many different combinations of sand, stones, and shells. The ancient theater, the catacombs, and the famous windmills in the village of Tripiti, are some of the best attractions on the island, while the local dishes, ouzo, and wine won’t let anyone down.

This awesome little island has a length of only 7.5 km, which means that you can easily explore it riding a bicycle or motorbike. Do not be fooled by its small size, however, because it has so much to offer.
Boracay has several excellent beaches to choose from. The Yapak Beach is globally known for its beautiful white shells, while White Beach de Boracay is considered one of the best in the world and everyone who has visited it can’t forget the stunning sunsets they’ve witnessed there.

Last but definitely not least, Baling Hai Beach Resort is one of the most isolated and beautiful beaches in the world and is considered ideal for honeymooners who want to have some “private” time. According to, most tourists who’ve visited the island before agree on one thing: Boracay is one of the most beautiful seaside destinations in the world.

Capri is a purely romantic island and a favorite destination for many celebrities such as Mariah Carey. It has breathtaking views, the bluest sea you will see while in Italy, and even the air will seduce your senses with from the scent of its fragrant lemon flowers.

The Blue Grotto, a sea cave on the coast of Capri, the impressive Faraglioni Rocks, and the Palazzo a Mare are some of the prettiest spots on the island and attract thousands of tourists every year, but nothing compares with Marina Piccola Beach, which offers some of the best snorkeling you might ever have in your life. Other than its incredible beauty it is believed this was the spot where the great Greek hero from Ithaca, Odysseus, nearly succumbed to the Sirens’ song . . . a legend that befits this captivating island big time.

Ambergris Caye is the largest island of Belize and a destination that maintains the ideal balance featuring several amenities to make your visit interesting and unique, without being well-known enough to the masses, so that falling over your typical half-naked, drunken tourists is not a common occurrence.

Apart from the beautiful white sandy beaches, Ambergris Caye offers impressive mangrove marsh vegetation, the largest in Belize, while the most common transportation is small golf carts. Lovers of diving off reefs will get a chance to enjoy the coral reefs of Belize and the “Blue Hole,” an impressive underwater limestone cave with a depth of 121 meters, full of angelfishes, stunning corals, shrimps, and stalactites, will give a surrealistic touch to your experience.
