11 Christmas Songs We Never Get Tired Of (This Time Of The Year)

Christmas is just a week away and the party animals of this world are getting ready to have a blast. The most celebrated holiday in the Western world brings a big smile to almost everyone’s faces and the spirit of greed and excessive consumption conquers our hearts during this “holy” season. Not that we aren’t already greedy and hungry enough during the rest of the year, but at least during Christmas we have an excuse to pig out on every possible level without feeling guilty.

Department stores, famous landmarks, and many streets have been adorned with Christmas decorations and thousands of flashy lights, while people are competing with each other over who will get their shopping done the fastest and at the best prices, or get the best gifts for their loved ones. Kids all over the world are anxiously waiting for Santa to climb down their chimneys and leave lots of presents under their ornament-bedecked Christmas trees. TV shows have holiday episodes, and TV channels are playing everyone’s favorite Christmas movies and cartoons.

If you step back for a moment and take a break from all this “festive madness” you’ll notice that all these things are usually accompanied by Christmas music. Whether your mom is cooking or your dad is decorating the Christmas tree, or you’re shopping with your friends in the mall or just enjoying a good Christmas film on TV or DVD, chances are there will be Christmas songs playing in the background. So the question is: Did you ever wonder what the most popular Christmas songs are?

In case you haven’t wondered, we collected 11 wildly popular Christmas songs for you that we never get tired of listening to during this most wonderful time of the year.

“O HOLY NIGHT” – Celine Dion

Celine Dion applies the huge sound of her voice to the classic song and seduces our senses.

“JINGLE BELL ROCK” – Billy Idol

The “Rebel Yell” has a soft side and loves Christmas too . . . just like the rest of us.

“THE LITTLE DRUMMER BOY” – David Bowie and Bing Crosby

Two absolute legends, David Bowie and Bing Crosby collaborated for a version of this song televised on a Bing Crosby Christmas special in 1977 and delivered a “little” masterpiece.

“WHITE CHRISTMAS” – Bing Crosby

The biggest-selling single of all time with over fifty million copies sold worldwide. Enough said.

“ALL I WANT FOR CHRISTMAS IS YOU” – Mariah Carey

The ‘90s Mariah Carey we all love and miss.

“DO THEY KNOW IT’S CHRISTMAS?” – Band Aid

Bob Geldof and Midge Ure put together the “Do They Know It’s Christmas?” project to provide aid for victims of the famine in Ethiopia in 1984. The song has been a Christmas standard ever then.

“SILENT NIGHT” – Michael Bolton

Because Michael Bolton can make Christmas music sound so damn sexy.

“LONELY THIS CHRISTMAS” – Elvis Presley

The King needs company.

“LAST CHRISTMAS” – WHAM!

There was once a beautiful time George Michael could sell millions of records with cheesy songs like this.

“DRIVING HOME FOR CHRISTMAS” – Chris Rea

This song, ladies and gents, is the personal favorite of the awesome guy who made this and so many other lists for TCmag. Unfortunately he doesn’t have a car.

“SANTA BABY” – Eartha Kitt

Catwoman flirts with Santa. Grrrrrrrrr!
