WAG stands for Wives and Girlfriends and was coined by Bitish tabloids to describe all the trophy wives who started accompanying their player husbands to the big tournaments. The WAGs got more attention than the actual players and their performances and it's not difficult to see why in some cases. The original WAG has to be Victoria Beckham, but she's long been surpassed and is out of the loop. These are the ladies that matter in 2012. We've got Shakira, Sara Carbonero, Coleen Rooney, Toni Poole, Yolanthe Cabau van Kasbergen, Kayla Collins, Irina Shayk, Sylvie van der Vaart, Melanie Slade, Alena Seredova, Sarah Brandner, Alex Curran and Christine Bleakley in this selection.
