Fatal Shooting At Denver Batman Premiere

The Dark Knight Rises is the most anticipated movie of the year and it had it had it's worldwide release last night. We'll only know in a couple of days if it broke the opening day and weekend records, but we can say that it definitely broke the record of most killings at a premiere. Some crazy 20something went on a premiere killing spree in Denver. The casualty count so far is 14 dead and 50 wounded. The shooter has been arrested. He had a gun and pistol on him and was dressed in a batmna mask and black clothing. Where was the real Caped Crusader when he was needed?

Yes, There is a direct correlation to Tough Gun laws and High crime rates. Washington DC once the murder capital of the World. Also the toughest gun laws in the US. Did you know, in the US, there were more people that died of poisoning than Guns? The amount of people saved is impossible to determine because it goes unreported/underreported in the US. An exaple is Gabby Giffords the congresswoman. The report says she was saved by onlookers, the news failed to report that there were two people that held him at gun point. Another example: Would you count a person that is going to rob someone, but then sees the person is armed, so the potential attacker does not follow through on the attack as a save? Or what about a cop foiling a crime? You cannot prove a negative. But those who saved themselves or others with a gun would say gun ownership is a net gain. And their families think so too.

Actually it is VERY relevant, that means law abiding gun owners were ALL disarmed. Since they followed the theater owners rule, they were helpless. Look back a couple of days on this very website and see what a gun in an old man's hands can do to stop armed gunmen.

He owns a gun, all of his security guards have guns. he owns Haliburton Stock (BTW He HATES Haliburton) He owns stock in gun manufactures, Defense companies, Health care and prescription drug companies. All of which he has profusely derided in his movies. So don't put too much faith in Michael Moore, he thinks the poor bastards on Cuba are better off because the have free health care, and have not gotten a new car since the revolution.

Of course you don't understand, that is because you are you. Let me put it into small easy words for you to understand. Example: You never hear of someone breaking into home of a 20-30 swiss male do you? No, because anyone in Switzerland knows the homeowner is armed with a fully automatic weapon.It would be kind of foolish to rob them when they are home right? Those mandatory weapons also had something to do with why why the Nazis never fucked with Switzerland, although the swiss didn't have automatic weapons, they all had guns and every male was also considered part of the Swiss Army and was trained as such.

Now the cities in the US that have the highest crime rates coincidentally also happen to be the same cities that have the toughest gun laws. I have been told the bad guys love to go into homes that do not have guns because there is a much better chance they will walk out of that home alive. In case you didn't know bad guys don't like to get shot and especially don't like to die. Also ther is something called a home invasion, whereas the bad guys, come in steal everything and molest the people in the homes. It never happens when the potential invaders suspect the homeowner is armed. They find an easier target. See where i am going with this? The States that experience these types of crimes also have tougher gun laws. While the states that do permit gun ownership and open carry laws do not have the same level of crime. Take these to neighboring cities, Arlington VA and Washington DC they are right next to each other, DC was once know as the murder capital of the world, Alington VA did not have the same problem. Why, because Virginia has a very liberal gun ownership and open carry laws, DC had the toughest gun laws in the USA. See where i am going with this? There has been study after study showing the correlation between tough gun laws and higher violent crime rates.

What is your point? The Swiss ARMY kind of gives you a clue? People who are highly trained with firearms. Not some moron that can walk into any gun store and buy whatever he likes as long as he has some ID. Why would the Swiss be an argument for more guns in the households of the US? I don't understand, do you think Switzerland are going to come over and attack you? The point of any militia is to defend their own country against "foreign aggression" not to go out attacking other countries.

Guns are easy to get in the US. Watch bowling for Columbine. They are an easy way for people to kill others. You mention that this could have been done by other means if guns were out of reach. How? With explosives (which are harder to get / require significantly more knowledge than guns).

Why not own multiple fire arms? Like any tool, some have certain uses, while others are specialized. An example a rifle, good for bringing down big game at a distance, no so much for duck hunting. For that you need a shot gun. For personal defense, a hand gun is in order. As far as reporting, the Brady Bill, was the tightest crack down on gun purchasing and registering in the history of the US. The controls seem to be working right? It comes down to the fact that, you cannot legislate morality. A good example is homosexuality. In Iran being caught in the act is punishable by death. They kill homosexuals by the thousands every year. But there are still gays there, and they still practice it even with the death penalty attached to it. While i am not saying gays are insane, but you would think to practice homosexuality in Iran, knowing the penalties, is a little crazy. It is the same for this insane fuck, and the guy in Norway, for what ever sick justification they had in their own sick minds, they decided they were going to kill people and unfortunately they succeeded. ALl we are doing now is debating the methods they used. The guy in CO, was very smart, he had homemade grenades, home made gas grenades, his house was wired with booby traps. Heck he could have done it with a frame thrower. Even if he did not have a gun, unfortunately he would have still been able to accomplish his goal.

Quid, the really interesting fact that has come to light is the movie theater where it happened was in fact a "Gun Free" zone. That guy had absolutely no respect for that law! Maybe next time make a law saying you cannot kill people in a movie theater will stop them. BTW, it has also been established, that the guy was part of the "Occupy Wall Street" movement.

In general no one can handle the responsibility of carrying firearms. A maniac that are legally possesing multiple firearms and at the same time thinks he is Batmans nemesis... Prove me wrong. In Skandinavia we are most definetly not just to people shooting up schools, supermarkets, etc. Thats why i get a little supecious of americans accusing countrys like Norway for being "just as bad" as america. Do you even know where Norway is? Or Montreal for that matter? There was one time, where cigarettes was a symbol of wealth. We suddenly startet to use our brain and people are quitting cigarettes because for some good reason they dont symbolize that and they are bad for you. Do you have the facts on Norwegians "bore each other to death?" That's an interesting one. (no pun intended).
My understanding of individual weapon protection is that paranoia & ego plays a major part.
Someone in another post not related to this one related the right to bear arms as 'cowboy' & was completely criticised in an uncivilised way despite the possible meaning of way back when there were only skeleton sheriffs back in 'Billy The Kid' times in a huge country.
Today, weapons aren't necessary if you live inner city no matter where you live.
Have a gun hobby? Join a club & keep it locked up there.
Thieves steal it? Not your problem. That's a global thing & I'm sure there will be property insurance, right?

Great, so white-bread Norwegians don't kill each other by handgun. They bore each other to death. I resent the implication that firearms are associated with a lack of sophistication or intelligence. I dare say the converse is true. By way of biting example, the correlation is disproved in places like Norway, which, up until yesterday, held the record for this type of atrocity. By "this kind of thing" I responded to calculated mass murders like the one perpetrated by Brevik, in Norway. Nothing in Noregian law could have prevented what happened there. We don't lose people that often with car bombs either. We lose far more people in the USA by car accidents. Do we take cars way from the populace. How about hamburgers and heart attacks? One can't undo the technology of gunpowder or ammonium nitrate exposions (or internal combustion or cooking for that matter). And we understand one of the best deterrents against tyranny is seating the fundamental defense of the individual against mobs is invested in the individual themselves. So we keep our guns. For more organized crimes we have more organized functions, law enforcement, militia, and on the national level, armies. Just like everyone else. Except this country is in no danger of having this or other governments or mobs assuming any kind of real control, thanks to individual protections.

It wasn't a machine gun. It was a semi-automatic a AR15 to be exact, a shot gun and 2 pistols and tear gas. He also wired his home explosives and they all had trip wires. This guy was highly educated,he graduated High School with honors, he had a Bachelors degree, masters degree and was in school working towards a PHD. So i don't think he would be considered uneducated. The purchase of a gun requires a background check, this guy had one ticket in his entire life so he would have passed that too. But he did have an intent to kill many people, if not with a gun, it would be something else. Evil has its ways. Not sure if you ever been to Colorado, but it is very rural and unpopulated. It is not uncommon to see and been seen by a mountain lion or bear while walking, jogging or riding a bicycle. What would you have those folks do when that are attacked by one, throw spitballs?
