Everybody is innocent until they prove the opposite. And I know many people from there, even friends of mine that went to Iran and they were very welcome there. Propaganda doesn't work to me anymore. Only worked, when I was a child with excessive movies of Rambo. US said the something: "all europe are in the missile range of the Iraq..." and guess what...we never way any single missile over there...

PS. Im not saying that we should trust on everybody, but US Gov at this moment is one of the biggest with less credibility. for the world, and even for many US citizens.

I didn't say that Europeans went to US for no reason, that's why I said they called the land of "freedom and opportunity". Like I said before, all great nations fall down, and Europe on that time had many problems, so everybody went to US for a new kind of life, a new beginning, on a peaceful country away from all the crazyness of the Europe on that time. Internet, the World Wide Web, the "general public one", was invented by that guy. DARPA, ARPA and others were too much different than the Internet that we know nowadays. It was like a "file and text sharing".

And like you say, I said too. Everybody needs everybody, even US needs my little country. One of the most valuable strategic points that help US move fast around the world nowadays is the "Lajes Field" on Azores Islands (Portugal). And is used since the WWII, and some people say that it was the most important strategic point to win the WWII.

So there's a lot of work together, and this one is only an example. No one can win a war alone, but for the most Americans that I know, their vision of the WWII specially is like everybody was screwed, and the US came like "Chuck Norris"...

Don't forget one thing. The BIG battlefield was on Europe, so for the US, the WWII was an easy task because you were very far away from the big battle. You had less losses because of that. Then you had the Pearl Harbor, and predicted other big events in your country, that's why you came here do join the Alies, years after the War started, because you know exactly that this war only could and SHOULD end here, with all Allies together, because if we all fall down, you were the next. And alone maybe you couldn't handle the power of the Axis, that were very close to finish the Atomic Bomb.

So, the History was written by a good alliance between all countries. That is what US Americans should learn on your schools. You all, are very prepared since kids to be patriots, and all the stories that are told to you are bigger than they were on reality. That's good, off course, love your country, and I appreciate that. But I know that on the other hand, that kind of education sometimes made you blind and a easy tool for your government...and could lead you to a total ignorance from what is the world.

Remember when all americans saw an Japanese? Went all crazy... racism everywhere, etc..? It's not much different from nowadays with the muslim guys. We should stop that and see the true behind all wars.

Since the Internet became mainstream, I see so many people around the world, or on the "crazy countries" that I always heard about since I was child, people facing the same problems as mine, with the same governments inducing them to war and hate, that I saw myself thinking: We all have the same problem and the same enemy...and its not from the outside.

On the middle east, the kids grow up with their gov saying: "America is bad.. hate them all..." and on the US, I see all the kids talking about Middle east, like "they are all bad...hate them all.." "Play Call of Duty to kill them all.." "join the Army" .. so, (really sorry about my bad english) but, you understand what I mean?... We should stop using weapons and use tools like Internet to share our histories, our thoughts, our respect for each other, and stop being tools from our governments that use a lot of propaganda to start wars with no reason at all.. and you can see that im right because most of that countries censure the Internet, to don't let the people see the truth. And the Irony, is that US want's to censorship the Internet too... they call it "SOPA" and other stuff like it was about "copywrite" and "piracy stuff" but is much more than that... so, it's time to everybody wake up the see, by ourselves... putting all the Gov crap away from US.

About the 'Patriots' on Wall street, they are all losers, they do not have jobs because they are so anti-social, inept, stupid and generally lack common sense. So much so no one wants to hire them. I have met them in NY and DC, i wanted to find out more about them, they are the tools. I met a girl who went to Columbia University at a cost of$60,000 a year, had a master's degree in African American women's studies. I asked her WTF kind of degree is that? She really couldn't tell me much. I asked her "what kind of job can you get with that?" She really didn't know, but said most likely a non-profit. I said they don't pay very much. maybe the high $50s per year I then asked her " with such low pay, how are you going to pay the loans back? she didn't really answer but said the government should pay for it. Real Winner in my book!

You sound like a reasonable guy, but you a quite mistaken about the Internet. The Internet was first know as DARPAnet (Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency Network) Later called ARPAnet (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network) It linked colleges and laboratories throughout the US. check isoc.org/internet/history

TCP/IP to Internet protocol also was developed by the US as well; its robust design was to ensure network communications in the event of nuclear war. So Jeremiah is absolutely correct in his assertions that the US did invent the Internet.

As for the US helping other countries, they do, while the do not give the most by using the percentage of GDP they do give the most by more than double. #1 US 28.6 billion to #2 France at 12.4 billion. Much of Europe was rebuilt after WWII because of the Marshall Plan (officially the European Recovery Program) that poured in 115 billion in today's dollars. The Marshall plan effectively halted the Soviet conquest of Europe. Portugal owes some its independence because of the US's efforts.

While you are correct the US is made up of mostly Europeans, You are incorrect to think Europeans came to the US for no reason, they came to the US because of religious and other types of oppression, famine and starvation, war, the reasons are many but they all were due to negative European experiences. But for whatever reason, they chose the US over their former homeland. You have to admit things have to be bad for you to pull up your roots and move to another country. So in short, Europe had to be a pretty bad place for someone to immigrate to another country.

About the US's arrogance, while their history is short look at what they have done in that time and they do have a lot to be proud of, the US defeated the world's superpower (at the time) with the help from French Navy. They established a whole new form of governance, a peaceful transition of power from other person to another. Never on earth was there such a thing. Anyone can be President. Anyone can become rich. It IS the land of opportunity. No other country can offer that. In 200 years, they lead the industrial revolution, developed mass production, harnessed the atom, the US has risen to the only super power. The US is the only country to put a man on the moon. They defeated European Communism without firing a shot. Most of the world uses technology developed in the US. There is no place in the world the US military cannot reach. If it was not for the US entering WWI and WWII most of Europe would be speaking German. After WWII, it might have been Russian. When the USSR was in power, most of Europe couldn't defend themselves without the US. Most of the world uses technology developed in the US. So, a little leeway should be granted to the US attitude.

To both of you, and everyone else, both haters and supporters of the US, we need each other more so than ever. Iran is fast approaching nuclear status, Putin is trying to bring back the USSR, and China is on the rise.

I am not sure how i feel about this, its unprofessional, and disgraceful, but also understandable. If my friends have been killed by an enemy using asymmetrical warfare tactics and I took some down, not sure how I would react. But I wouldn't film it. Because then it gets out. And some of the charges they are talking about are felonies. So that was kind of dumb. But whats worst is the poor bastard who either takes a round, or steps on an IED placed by some civilian, that up to this point choose not to become involved with the war, but who finds this to be the thing that makes them decide to take that shot, or place that bomb, that kills some young soldier who gets flown home to be buried by a grieving family, a guy who might have made it out of that hell hole, except a few marines had to go and film themselves doing something that they had to have known would have consequences.

Of course im not ignorant, I know that you have so many great people there, and I can't judge you all, but im only saying, and you know it, that most of you have much to grow up in a matter of mentality and humility. And see by ANY History of the great nations of the world, they all fall... and most of the time, because of the same arrogance and excessive reliance. So that's why, today, you want to be part in all kind of wars, to keep that power...but you are doing it wrong...your economy are shaken, like ours, and many big countries, on silence, are growing and are becoming more rich and powerful than you, without any war... so my advice to you all is too take a deep breath and see for yourself if all that wars are really necessary, and if you alone can keep your own country moving on...and the most important, keep confident and humble on the same level. WW2 - if the US did not get involved, your beloved Portugal would not exist. My grandfather and great uncle went to war to save the world, and we were successful. How about a thank you for that ?

Portugal can barely take care of itself, let alone help anyone else. So don't even try to discredit what we have done to help, because you have done NOTHING along with the vast majority of the world.

I am not a historian, politician or in the military. I am just a hard working American disgusted with the hate.

Our Government isn't perfect, we know that and there will be changes soon. But, when shit happens, who will be the ones to help the deserving out ? Portugal ? France ? Germany ? Certainly not.

Who does the world econemy rely on ? Who is at the cutting edge of technoligy, medicine, etc. ? Shoot, all you American haters wouldn't even be typing this crap without America, because there would be no internet. Well, maybe the Portugese might of gotten to it 50 years from now.

This could go on and on. All I am saying is try to show a little respect for us Americans. Most of us are great people who would do anything for anyone. Just show some respect please..

The civilians alone could probably handle it. Most of us are armed, and very well. And, we will stand up when need be.

My best friend is over there right now and I hear all about it, those people are crazy animals and deserve whatever they get.

There is not even 1 gun as you can see. they just kill normal people for fun. in 2010 i was in kabul and i saw what they do there. the soldiers drive like there is nothing on road. if you dont watch out, they just drive over you.
