Sometimes they are a car, sometimes they are a pedestrian - and it will change in an instant, depending on which set of rules suits them better at that moment. And drivers are supposed to guess the cyclist's next move. There's nothing more irritating than a cyclist riding along with traffic, reaching a pedestrian crossing and suddenly riding across traffic flow with the pedestrians.

My own experience is that drivers will blame the cyclist 'for being there'. Much like the driver who nearly ran me over as I exited a roundabout and then honked his horn at me because I apparently scared/annoyed him by being in his way.

Drivers will (and I've seen it) argue with a cyclist in heavy traffic, like in the video, if the driver thinks the cyclist is 'beating' them in the race to the next jam or red light. Arguments arise such as "you pay no road tax so you shouldn't be on the road", which is always one that makes me wonder how clever the driver must be to assume I don't also own 2 other gas-guzzling vehicles.
