The New WTC Escalators

The new WTC is nearing it's completion (in terms of height). This week the escalators started being hoisted up and put into place. This image travelled the internet for a bit earlier this week as it was mighty impressive. These are some more images from that task.

The ThyssenKrupp Elevator team used a crane to hoist an escalator to the 101st floor of One World Trade Center. This is one of 11 escalators and 74 elevators being installed on the site. The elevators will be the fastest elevators in the western hemisphere. Source
